Elisabeth Voigt

Elisabeth Voigt is Special Assistant to the General Counsel of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Before joining HUD in May 2009, Elisabeth worked as a Field Organizer with Obama for America. From 2005 to 2008, she was an Attorney with Public Advocates, Inc. in San Francisco, where she worked on civil rights litigation and community coalition efforts in the areas of housing and transportation. Prior to joining Public Advocates, she clerked for the Hon. Richard A. Paez on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. During law school, Elisabeth focused on fair housing and eviction defense and worked for the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Washington Lawyers' Committee, Morrison & Foerster, and Bay Area Legal Aid. She was a case planner for Concord Family Services Family Pathways Program in Brooklyn, New York prior to law school. Elisabeth graduated Order of the Coif from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2004 and summa cum laude from Bowdoin College in 2000.
